‘Wishful Drinking’ Performed by Carrie Fisher at the Lincoln Theatre on U Street
There are only a few days left where you can catch Carrie Fisher in ‘Wishful Drinking’ at the Lincoln Theater. I felt like I was at the DC Improv. She is extremely funny with the way she talks about her movies, famous parents, family tree, addictions, marriage to Paul Simon and all the stuff in between. She is well known from being the daughter of Debbie Reynolds and Eddie Fisher but her real claim to fame was when she played Princess Leia in Star Wars at the age of 19. The 28th of September is the last show and tickets can be purchased at the Lincoln Theatre at http://www.arenastage.org/season/08-09/wishful-drinking/.
The theatre is located at 13th and U Street right across the Street from the U Street/Cardoza metro. The Theatre was restored and reopened in 1994. There is a rich history since it first began in 1921. Coming soon to the Lincoln Theatre is the Duke Ellington Jazz Festival, the Dakshina Dance Company and the International Gay and Lesbian Film Festival. “It’s hard to find a neighborhood where you can live right around the corner from the theatre, a few blocks from so much culture and to have a spontaneous dinner from the dozens of restaurants to choose from.” – U Street Resident
